Jo Ann Norcross, a vibrant spirit and loving matriarch, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2025, just shy of her 86th birthday.
Born December 18, 1939, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jo was the beloved daughter of the late Burt and Helen Deet. She carried the proud heart of the Steel City with her throughout her life, remaining a dedicated, lifelong fan of the Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates.
Fresh out of high school, Jo found her true passion when she joined TWA as a flight attendant. Her career took her on countless trips around the world, bringing her immense joy and introducing her to a circle of lifelong friends. Her travels were filled with exciting stories, including chance encounters with celebrities like Tom Selleck.
Her journeys brought her to the love of her life, Robert Norcross, and they happily started a family.
Later in life, Jo's greatest joy was being at home, surrounded by her family. She was the cornerstone of holiday celebrations, where she hosted unforgettable Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Her warmth, laughter, and generous spirit made every gathering special.
Jo Ann leaves behind a loving family who will deeply miss her: her sister, Peggy Cupp; her brother, Mike Deet, and his wife, Ronnie; her daughter, Cathy Hess, and son-in-law, Scott Hess; her son, Tim Norcross, and daughter-in-law, Gwenne Norcross; and her step-son, Paul, his partner Mark, Jim and Laurie Norcross.
She was a devoted and proud grandmother to Kate, Sean, Taylor, Kendall, Ava, and Dylan.
Jo will be laid to rest in a private ceremony on October 18, 2025. Her memory will forever be cherished as a life full of passion, adventure, and unconditional love.
