Irma Veronica Coyoy, lovingly known as “Pitufita,” was born on December 14, 1973, in Mazatenango, Suchitepéquez, Guatemala, and passed away on April 12, 2026. She later made her home in Hawthorne, California, where she built a life centered on love, family, and quiet strength.

Irma was a devoted wife to Carlos Cifuentes and a loving mother to her children, David Cifuentes and Jaqueline Cifuentes. She is also survived by her sister, Norma Lopez, and her nephews, Luis Martinez and Jose Lopez, along with many extended family members and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.

She worked as a Laundry Attendant at Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes, where she took great pride in her work. Irma was known for her curiosity and dedication, always eager to learn new skills and understand different roles within the resort. Her work ethic and kindness left a lasting impression on those around her.

Irma found joy in life’s simple and beautiful moments. She loved cooking, singing, caring for flowers, and spending time with her family. She had a special fondness for koalas, enjoyed playing Candy Crush, and cherished traveling to Guatemala to visit her beloved mother, to whom she devoted much of her life. At home, she found peace in being with her husband and son, especially when they were together, sharing quiet moments watching television.

She was a warm, gentle, and generous soul who always put others before herself. Irma was known for reaching out to friends with advice, offering comfort and guidance with sincerity and love. Her presence brought reassurance, and her kindness created lasting bonds.

One of her most cherished memories, shared by her family, was attending her son’s ceremony when he received an award—a moment that filled her with pride and joy. She also loved the music of the Bee Gees and would happily sing along, even if she didn’t speak English, simply enjoying the feeling the music brought her.

Irma’s love for her family was the center of her world. She asked for very little, finding happiness in knowing her loved ones were safe, together, and at peace.

She will be laid to rest at Green Hills Cemetery, in the Garden of Reflection, near a place she held dear—Terranea Resort.

Irma Veronica Coyoy “Pitufita” will be remembered for her loving heart, her gentle spirit, and the quiet but powerful way she cared for everyone around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
