Harvey Masaru Matsumoto was born on August 30, 1946 in Los Angeles, CA to Masao and Kiyoka Kohara. He was the middle son of three boys between Stanley and Richard. He helped in the family gardening business until he finished his college education at Cal Poly Pomona in Computer Science then worked predominantly in the automotive industry.

In 1975 he married Kathy and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in October and lived happily in the South Bay. Harvey had many friends who shared his love of food, sports, doo wop music, playing in Las Vegas and basking in the sun in Hawaii. He cherished good times with friends and family and looked forward to celebrating with them.

He bravely faced many health challenges yet never complained but endured them with strength and resilience.

Though Harvey may no longer be with us in the physical sense, the sound of his laughter, his generous spirit and the impact he made on our lives will forever remain. May he rest in eternal peace in the warmth of the sun that he loved so much.
