Haruo Jack Harada was born in Los Angeles in 1927. At the age of 14 years, while returning from a vacation in Japan aboard a ship, World War II broke out and the ship had to return to Japan leading him to spend the next four years living in Hiroshima with relatives. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from University of California Berkeley School of Engineering and worked at Garrett AirResearch until his retirement. He loved golfing, UCLA basketball, Dodger baseball, and caring for his pet dogs. He is preceded in death by beloved wife Lily and survived by 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren. His 98 full years of life will be remembered with love and gratitude.
