Harald W. Arndt, M.D.

Harald W. Arndt passed away on Christmas day 2012 at the young age of 61. Harry was born in Germany, but moved to the United States at the age of 2 and lived in the Phoenix area through medical school training. Harry began his medical career at UCLA and remained in the Los Angeles area working as an Emergency Room physician.
Harry is survived by his wife and best friend, Patricia; his brother Rolf; numerous nieces and nephews, Ava Arndt, Sue and Zeke, Lisa Arndt, Andrew Moore, Michael Moore, Jonathan Yoel, Diana Yoel, James Phelan, and Elizabeth Phelan; as well as great-niece Lucy Arndt. Harry was the beloved brother-in-law of Mary and Eli Yoel, Maggie and Philip Moore, John and Sherry Phelan, Peter and Karen Phelan and son-in-law of Rita Phelan. He was pre-deceased by his parents Ernst and Lottie Arndt of Phoenix, and father-in-law Jack Phelan.
Over the course of his medical career, Harry worked as in many emergency rooms including Santa Monica, Downey, and most recently Community Hospital of Long Beach, where he was a director of the emergency department. He was a great diagnostician loved by patients and co-workers for his warmth, humor, compassion, and his ever-present smile.
Harry love life! He loved all kinds of music and especially Jimmy Buffett songs; he loved playing his Fender guitars; he loved working out and staying physically fit; he loved anything football but especially the Oakland Raiders; he loved gardening and raising succulents; he loved going to the beach (any beach); he loved scuba diving; he loved relaxing in his swimming pool; he loved drinking tequila and beer; he loved eating Mexican food; but most of all, Harry loved his wife of 22 years, Patricia.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, December 28 at 1:00pm in the chapel at Green Hills Memorial.
