In Loving Memory of Gloria “Glo” Ronnau
Gloria Ronnau was born in Los Angeles in 1921 to Henry and Bertha Becnel. As a young woman, she attended Fremont High School and later worked at the Owl Rexall headquarters. There she met her beloved husband Don who preceded her in death in 2007.
Together they built a family rooted in faith, loyalty, and love. She was the mother of four children: Donny Ronnau, who passed in 2023; Diane Ronnau, who passed in 2022; Ann Sidler (Derald); and Carol Randolph. She was a proud grandmother to Jennifer Randolph, Vincent Randolph (Krystal), Chris Randolph, Tracy Sidler (Eric), Aidan and Ben Osterman, and a loving great-grandmother to Jackson, Julianna, Jillian, Devin, and Tristan. She was also cherished as “Auntie Glo” to her nieces and nephews, holding a special place in each of their lives.
Gloria was a longtime resident of San Pedro, having made it her home in 1962. She devoted 20 years to the Los Angeles Unified School District, working at Banning High School and Dodson Middle School.
Gloria’s world revolved around her family; raising her children, caring for extended family, and creating a place where everyone felt welcomed, fed, and loved. Glo was the steady presence others leaned on, the matriarch whose example shaped generations.
Her faith was not loud but lived — in her humility, her generosity, and the way she showed up for others without needing recognition.
Gloria lived 104 years, witnessing a century of change while remaining true to the values that mattered most to her. Her life was defined not by accolades, but by devotion - to her family, her faith, and a love that continues long after her passing.
There will be a Visitation from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm with a Recitation of the Rosary at 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 21 at Green Hills Memorial Park, Cove Room.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, December 22 at Holy Trinity Church followed by burial at Green Hills Memorial Park.
