Gladys Keiko Hamachi was born in Santa Monica, California on December 10, 1933 and peacefully passed away in Torrance, California on October 3, 2025 at the age of 91.
Gladys grew up in Pasadena, California with her parents, Yoshio & Flora Tomatani, and her brothers, Hideo & Tsueno Tomatani. She became a flight attendant for Pan Am Airlines and later in life became a hair stylist. She married Yoshio Hamachi and they settled down in Torrance, California.
Gladys loved her family immensely and enjoyed spending all of her time with her grandchildren, watching them as they grew up and celebrating every milestone, holiday & special moment together. The countless memories shared will forever live on in our hearts. She also loved to crochet and her favorite hobby was to knit blankets to give out to everyone.
Gladys is survived by her loving family, including her daughters, Gail Mizobe, Sandy (David) Hallworth; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hallworth, Kellie Hallworth, Brandon Mizobe, and David Hallworth Jr; sister-in-law, Hatsume Tomatani; brother-in-law, Joe Hamachi; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
A graveside service will be held for Gladys on November 15, 2025 at 12 p.m. at Green Hills Memorial Park.
