Geraldine Dorothy (Mosich) Cvitanovich, age 91, passed away February 25, 2022. Gerry was born March 16, 1930 in the city of San Pedro, California and was the second born child of the five children in the Nicholas and Maria Mosich family. Gerry lived in San Pedro her entire life and as a young girl, she christened several of her father’s fishing boats. In 1948, she met a handsome young Croatian man who had just returned from active military duty in the US Army, Albert Cvitanovich. She married her beloved husband Albert “Berto” in October of 1949. Gerry was a dedicated homemaker and mother. Family was everything to her and she was thrilled to have 2 sons, Albert and Steve. She was very social and active in the San Pedro community spending a significant amount of her time on a variety of causes. From the Cub Scouts to the Emblem Club, to the 49-niner Club, to numerous causes both locally and in Croatia, Gerry always had a helping hand for others and advice to give to anyone who was willing to listen. Gerry was forever smiling, was adored by her extended family and had a group of lifetime friends larger than almost anyone. She cherished being a grandmother and was known as ‘Noni” to so many. Gerry will be eternally remembered for her everlasting smile, warm heartedness, a passion for life, travel and family get-togethers. She respected all and lived a long, blessed life.
Gerry is survived by her loving sons and their wives, Albert (Tricia) and Steve (Sonia) and her treasured grandchildren Chloe DeLuca (Sam), Rachael and A.J., Natalie Carrozza (Rocco), Melissa DiIorio (Johnathan), Joey Trapp (Alana) and her precious great-grandchildren Roman DeLuca and Crawford Trapp.
Gerry also leaves behind her brothers and sister. Nick Mosich (Barbara), George Mosich (Joyette), Linda Mosich and numerous nephews and nieces. She will also be missed by her cousins Tony Ursich, Dora Marovich, Mary Vidovich, Ante and Mira Cvitanovich and countless close friends.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Albert, her parents, Nicholas and Maria Mosich, her brother Tony Mosich and his wife Doris, and many many loved ones.
Services will be held at Holy Trinity on March 14, 2022 at 10am with internment immediately to follow at Green Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Trinity Church in San Pedro.
