Gary was born in Wilmington, Ca. On July 5, 1951 and passed away peacefully at home on October 21st 2026.
He grew up going to Holy Family Church and being an alter boy at the persistence of his mother Sylvia who preceded him in death 2014.
He was a proud graduate of Banning High School class of 1969. He later went to serve in the Army at the tail end of the Vietnam war and fortunate enough to be stationed in Germany. Upon returning home he continued his service in the merchant marines and sailing around the world multiple times in giant oil tankers for Arco. He continued to serve his community as an LAPD officer and then settled as a longshoreman for 33 years and retired in 2017.
He loved all sports but especially Banning Pilot football during the heydays. His brother Rocky who preceded him in death in 2025 was a coach and Gary was their biggest supporter. Gary also had a deep love for the Dodgers and Raiders.
He continued to serve his community as an LAPD officer and then settled as a longshoreman for 33 years.
He was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife Laurie of 39 years, sons Anthony (Hannah) and Nick (Jazmin). His beloved grandchildren Olivia, Ethan, Dominick and Sophie.
Visitation at Green Hills Rancho Palos Verdes Nov 8th at 1 pm with Chapel services to follow around 3 pm. Private interment at a later date.
