Frank
Scognamillo
Oct 9, 1937 — Jun 21, 2026
Frank Scognamillo, owner and operator of Sunrise Marine Services, died on Sunday, June 21, at his home in San Pedro, California, surrounded by his family. He was 88.
Frank was known for his ability to repair just about anything and for his willingness to help others. This skill, born of necessity, became one of his greatest strengths and one of the ways he showed love to his family and friends.
He was born in New York City; then his family relocated to San Pedro when he was 9 years old. He remained there for the rest of his life. His interest in boats and his work for many years in the marine services industry prepared him for his own business, which suited his independent and optimistic spirit.
Frank is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Christine; his son, Gaetano; his sisters, Phyllis and Patricia; his granddaughters, Jessica and Hailey; 3 great grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Frank; brother, Alfred; and sister, Catherine.
Services will be held on July 8 at 10am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in San Pedro with Graveside Service at Green Hills Memorial Park. Reception to follow.
Flowers are appreciated, or if you prefer, memorial contributions may be made to Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. CHLA.org
