Frances Joan (Minahan) Hattersley

Our beloved mother and grandmother, Frances, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2019 at the age of 90. Born in Troy, New York on November 16, 1928 to Edward and Bertha Minahan, she graduated from Catholic Central High School, and married in 1950. In the 1960s, she moved to California with her husband, Tom Hattersley, to whom she was married for 17 years, and her four young children. She was an incredibly strong woman. When circumstances changed, she found a secretarial job and she raised her children on her own. She worked at Northrop Grumman as a secretary for over 25 years, and leaves behind many friends from those years. She loved Frank Sinatra, the Dodgers and Vin Scully, the theater, classic movies, her little dog Annie, and celebrations. Throughout many hardships over the years, she never lost her wit and her wonderful sense of humor. “The most beautiful girl in South Troy” adored her family and always kept us laughing. We will carry her stories, her laughter, and her love forever in our hearts. She is survived by her four children: Susan (Robert) Tatilian, Tom Hattersley, Patricia (Ray) Fountain, Teresa (Steven) Wiggins, and her grandchildren: Sean, Scott, Brian, Becky, Amber, Melanie, and Adrian. She is predeceased by her parents, siblings Marion, Edward, and Tom, and daughter-in-law Caroline. A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, March 15, at 10:00 a.m. at Green Hills Historic Chapel, 27501 South Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
