In Loving Memory of Emilia Gamboa

Emilia, age 90, passed away peacefully after a life filled with faith, family, hard work, and perseverance.

Born and raised in a small town in Mexico, Emilia learned the value of responsibility and dedication from an early age. As a young adult, she immigrated to the United States in pursuit of a better life. She and her husband, Gilberto, settled in Bishop, California, where they bought their home and raised four children.

After retiring from the hospital, where she worked as a housekeeper, Emilia and Gilberto moved to Torrance, California. When Gilberto suffered a stroke and became disabled, Emilia devoted herself to caring for him. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She also enjoyed making jewelry, crocheting, and preserving family memories through photographs.

Throughout her life, Emilia remained devoted to God and her Catholic faith. Prayer was a constant source of strength, comfort, and hope.

Emilia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gilberto, and her eldest son, Arturo. She is survived by her daughter, Alma; her sons, Gilbert and Hector; her grandchildren Lauren, Tyler, Madison, Gabriella, Samuel, and Mia; and her extended family.

Emilia will always be remembered for her love, strength, devotion, perseverance, and unwavering faith. Her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
