Edward Holland Jr.

Edward passed away peacefully at home at the age of 98. He was born in Liberty Hill,Texas in 1927 to Virgie Harris Holland and Edward Hollan. At the age of 16, in 1943, he joined US Navy. He served on a floating drydock in the South Pacific until the conclusion of the war in 1945. Returning home to San Antonio, Texas he completed his high school education.

Edward joined the US Air Force in 1947 and his first posting was the Pentagon in data processing. While working at the Pentagon he met his first wife Mary Anna Jane Hunter. They had three children, Jan Creed, Beth Ann Burdick and Bruce Holland. Ed had a successful military career and retired in 1964 . He went on to work in California and at Cornell University in New York as a database administrator.

After his retirement from the Air Force Edward joined Los Angeles Harbor Lodge No. 332 and he and Mary both joined Point Fermin Chapter 512, O.E.S. Edward was a member of the Mason’s for over 50 years and served as the Worshipable Master in 1977. He served as Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star Chapter nine times.

His first wife, Mary, passed away in 1982 and he later met his second wife Laurel at an Eastern Star meeting. They married in 1984 spending the next 41 years enjoying their retirement .

At the time of his death he was head of a five generation family. His survivors include his wife Laurel, daughters, Jan Creed and Beth Ann Burdick and son Bruce. Grandchildren Charissa (husband Seth) Franklin, Kyle Holland, Joel Holland, Courtney Burdick and Bryanna Burdick, Great Grandchildren Kaylee Holland, Kyler Holland, Conner Franklin, Ethan Kline, Oliver Austin, Anthony Holland (wife Alexis) and Seth Holland. Two Great Great Grandchildren Anthony Holland Junior and Addlyn Holland.
