Edmond G. Thompson

Edmond G. Thompson, a charismatic and giving man from Palos Verdes Estates, sadly passed away Sunday, November 18. His larger than life personality will be missed by all especially his wife of 52 years ,Judith Thompson, and his three daughters , Amy Thompson, Jennifer Thompson, and Julie Thompson. He is survived by his brother, Russell Thompson; His 8 grandchildren, Blake, Jessica, Bradley, Jacob, Jillian, Karlie, Josie, and Allie will have an emptiness in their heart for their “Popeye.” In addition, Ed’s son-in- law, Steve Schlom, will miss the fatherly advice on and off the golf course, and Jennifer’s husband, Michael, will miss all the history and grammar lessons Ed provided.
Edmond Thompson was born November 22, 1939 to Russell and Cecile Thompson in Marfa, Texas. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and went to UCLA where he received his Bachelor’s degree.

Edmond Thompson was a major part of the Sun Pacific operation for the last 49 years. Sun Pacific was truly a “fruitful “experience. He was Mayor of Palos Verdes Estates, President of the Palos Verdes Country Club in Palos Verdes Estates , and President of El Dorado Country Club in Indian Wells

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018, 4:00-8:00 pm at Green Hills Mortuary, Rancho Palos Verdes.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 3:00 pm at St. Francis Episcopal Church in Palos Verdes Estates.
