Dwight P Marquez

Dwight Puertollano Marquez, beloved husband and father, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his closest loved ones and his dogs in Lakewood, California on November 17th, 2025, at the age of 71.

Born on April 17th, 1954 in Manila, Philippines, he attended school at San Sebastian College and graduated from his alma mater at University of the Philippines Diliman with a degree in Mining Engineering with Top Notch marks. He worked at Marcopper Mining Corporation in Marinduque Island.

Dwight met his wife, Tita, while playing his guitar in his familiar haunts of Quiapo. Dwight and Tita married in 1980, but shortly after Tita moved to America to join her family. Soon after, he joined her in 1985 in the South Bay where they started their family with his firstborn, Jillian, and moved to Lakewood in 1991 after the birth of his youngest, Carl.

Dwight worked for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing in Long Beach for more than 30 years and retired in 2019. After retirement, he and his wife spent time traveling around the world and quick getaways to Las Vegas.

When he wasn’t jamming on his guitar, he was known for his photography - trying to capture the perfect shot and fond memories.

Dwight’s memory lives on through his wife, Tita, his two children, Jillian and Carl, and his pet companion, Dave.
