Dorothy Doma Bonacich was born May 13th 1932 at the San Pedro Hospital to Frank and Frances Bonacich, baby sister to Andrew and Katherine. She was an important influence and enthusiastic participant in the lives of all her nieces and nephews, as well as her extended family. She also had many close friends in San Pedro and remained close to them and their families her whole life.

She was very involved with Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, as well as a number of charities. The Velike Gospe Society was near and dear to her heart, she served as president numerous times. She was an active participant in many aspects of her beloved church assisting with the Mary Star Fiesta, and was involved in various committees, meetings and luncheons. She donated many hours to the San Pedro and Peninsula Cancer Guild which was formed to support cancer research. Her Yarn Angels was one of her passions. Knitting and crocheting items for preemies, veterans and the poor. She always gave as much as she could to others.

Dorothy traveled the world. She visited Croatia, Italy, France, Japan, Switzerland, Austria, Portugal, Mexico, Scotland, Ireland, Denmark, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Peru, just to name a few. She was both worldly and humble. Her character and spirit were formed by these many life experiences. Our family benefited from her loving spirit and devotion to Croatian culture. She was a steadfast participant in every family holiday get together and celebration. She will be missed, but Dorothy Doma Bonacich had a rich and rewarding life and those who knew her were fortunate to have shared in it.
