Dellamarie Lucero, 81, of San Pedro passed away on January 1, 2019 just 3 days shy of her 82nd birthday following a lengthy decline in her health. Della was born on January 4, 1937 to Juan Perea and Juanita Aragón Perea in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She married Antonio J. Lucero on July 28, 1956 in Las Vegas, New Mexico, relocating to San Pedro, CA shortly after their marriage where they lived until their recent passings. Della was preceded in death by husband Antonio, her parents: Juan and Juanita Perea; brothers: Henry and John Perea; sisters: Cleo Perea and Marcella Pearson. She is survived by sons: Mark and wife Nancy of Harbor City and John and wife Cheryl of Rancho Palos Verdes; and daughter Karen Di Meglio and husband Vince of Rancho Palos Verdes; grandsons: Steven, Nicholas and wife Chelsea and Kent; great grandsons: Ayden and Logan; numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Della was a stay-at-home mother while raising her three children. She was active in the elementary school that her children attended. After her children were grown up, Della embarked on a career in motel management where she worked until her retirement.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 10:30am at Mary Star of the Sea Church in San Pedro with burial to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
