David Alexander Buddan was born on January 18, 1961 in Belize to the proud parents of Enid and David Buddan.

David attended St. Johns College in Belize then went on to study Broadcasting at the University of the West Indies Mona Campos Jamaica. He was very active in sports and had a passion for acting. As a member of the Square Peg Player Drama Group, he took part in various live stage plays in Belize. At the young age of eighteen he was the Cir-culation Director at the Reporter Press. At the age of 24 David became the Assistant Program Director at Radio Belize and went on to become the Program Director a year later.

In November of 1986, the legendary Belizean broadcaster, and popular Radio Belize DJ, David Buddan, hosted the first ever radio show in the Belizean community of Los Angeles called the Belizean Music Hour, it was sponsored and produced by the legendary grassroots L.A. based Belizean organization, BREDAA (Belize Rural Economic Development of Agriculture through Alliance).

The moment of history is as clear as day today, as the one called the Rockadelic Rocker, uttered the first words that broke the airwaves for Belizeans in the diaspora: "This is David Buddan, and we are listening to the Belizean Music Hour on KPFK, Los Angeles." With those words, Belizeans in the diaspora came to be known as a force to be reck-oned with, showcasing their music, culture, and diverse peoples. He carved a broadcasting style that was unique in terms of its assimilation and as a British-Caribbean trained broadcaster cut straight into the American lingua franca of popular pop radio with a Belizean flavor.

The Rocka as he was called, also went on to host Caribbean radio shows in the beach areas of Redondo Beach, Ca. and became one of the pioneers of the popular Belizean Caribbean festival called, the Belize Caye Fest in 1986, with others like Patrick Barrow, and the legendary Belizean artist, Pupa Curley. He hosted the first series of early Belize Caye Fests in L.A., and also showed his talent on television, hosting several Caribbe-an and Belizean TV shows.

The brilliant broadcast journalistic qualities that David Buddan possessed, led him into also writing news for radio and television in Los Angeles, where he also contributed as a freelance writer for the popular Belizean newspaper in the L.A. Belizean community called the Belizean Focus in 1983.
For the past 20 years he had step out of the lime light to become a very savvy Businessman. He built a very success-ful marketing company from the ground up. During this time he remained a devoted husband and loving dad.

David 53, entered into eternal peace on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Torrance Memorial Hospital in Torrance California. His wife, Deborah Buddan, who has been very close to him for over 20 years, is suffering from this deep lost of her husband.
