Curtis Brown, 79, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 at his home in San Pedro surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn, his four children, Cathleen Jolley, Carrie Brown, Curtis Brown III, Crissa Phillips, 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Curt was born in New London, Connecticut. The son of Curt and Gertrude Brown. After graduating high school, he played football for BYU and shortly for the British Columbia Lions. Curt met his wife at BYU and they resided in Torrance for 40 years where they raised their family. He owned and operated his own company for 38 years. He enjoyed football, rugby, fishing and quality vacations with his family. Curt had a huge heart and was a very giving person to anyone who crossed his path. He was a huge inspiration to many of us. His work ethic was unparalleled. A graveside service will be held at 10am on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Green Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that you make a donation towards L.A. Childrens Hospital.
