Consuelo “Connie” Gomez Guardado was born on October 22nd, 1935 in León, Guanajuato, Mexico. She raised her family in Lomita, California with her then husband, Guillermo “Bill” Guardado (1932-2020). She established herself in the community as a faithful friend, generous neighbor, and a minister through various ministries to the unhoused. Connie’s unwavering faith in her Savior Jesus Christ sustained her as she walked through the valley of the shadow of death; she was filled with peace as she faced her diagnosis of leukemia in November, and her passing on December 2, 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones, and in the thoughts of many others. She is survived by her three sons Gerald “Jerry” (wife Davina), William “Howie”, and Christopher “Chris” (ex-wife Cherish); her five grandchildren Keilah (husband Kory) Gaviria, Natalie (husband Joseph) Guardado-Brookhouse, Anna, Samuel, and Ethan; her three great-grandchildren Atlas Dene, Weston Jane, and Matthew Rhodes, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. In the words of a dear friend, “She shines.”

A graveside burial service will take place on January 9, 2026, 12:00 PM, at Green Hills Memorial Park, followed by a reception at Rolling Hills Covenant Church (North campus) at 2:00 PM.
