Charlotte
Callella
March 20, 1935 – April 2, 2026
Charlotte “Lottie” Callella
Charlotte “Lottie” Callella was born March 20th 1935 to her parents Irving and Nedra Andrews in Fresno, California. She later moved to Lawndale, California. In Junior High she was on the church bus, when a boy threw her shoes out the window. Two boys, Johnny and Emil, made the bus driver stop, and told the boy to get out and get her shoes. The three became best friends for life!
Charlotte and her two kids, Bryan and Kim, moved in with Johnny and his three kids, Cindy, Mike, and Laura. A year later they were married, and became a family — including Iola and John, also known as “Curly,” of course. The Brady Bunch had nothing on them.
She spent the happiest days of her life (51 years) in Hawthorne, California, with her Best Friend, and the love of her life. Together they enjoyed western dancing, playing cards, yard sales, and trips to the casino.
Her passion for dancing led her to teach clogging, square dancing, and line dancing. In her later years, she even taught walker waltzing and took up karaoke. She had an incredible talent for sewing and crafting, creating detailed miniature towns and beautiful porcelain dolls. She would pour and bake the porcelain in her kiln, hand-paint each doll, and sew all of their clothing by hand.
Later in life, she discovered bean bag baseball (also known as cornhole), proudly telling everyone she had made well over 100 home runs. She became a huge Seahawks fan. The schedule was always hanging up, and dressed in her Seahawks gear, she never missed a game! Oh, and did I mention? She still never met a casino she didn’t like!
Most importantly, Charlotte loved the Lord deeply. In 1978, she gave her life to the Lord and was later baptized that same year. She attended church faithfully and was a devoted prayer warrior who constantly lifted her family up in prayer.
One by one, the kids became Christians. Johnny started going to church with her, and on June 23rd 2015, he asked Bryan to baptize him. Charlotte always said that was one of the happiest days in her life. That God could take her anytime, because now she knew her and Johnny would be together in heaven.
On April 2, 2026, Charlotte passed peacefully with a picture of Johnny beside her bed, surrounded not only by her loving family, but also by an amazing staff who loved her as much as we did.
