Charlene Joyce Hudson

July 23, 1934 — September 6, 2024

Charlene Joyce Hudson, known lovingly as Joyce, passed away on September 6, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on July 23, 1934, Joyce lived a life rich with love, adventure, and creativity.
Joyce was the loving and cherished wife of Kendall Lee Hudson, who has been her devoted partner for over 68 years. Together, they raised two sons, Kendall Lee Hudson and Page Allen Hudson, and spent much of their lives focused on fun family time. Joyce is also survived by her granddaughters Ava Lauren Hudson and Emily Louise Naumoff, and her great-grandchildren Walker Alexander Naumoff and Beau Allen Naumoff.
Joyce was a dedicated elementary and middle school teacher who spent her thirty year career developing and nurturing young minds in the Hawthorne School District. She spent her summers working with the Culver City Parks and Recreation Department. She was very creative and was a talented artist in her own right. She instilled in her children a deep appreciation for art, crafts, and writing, fostering their love of creativity, self-expression and independence.
In her younger years, Joyce spent time at MGM Studios with her father, meeting many celebrities. In the early years of her marriage, she was an avid outdoorswoman. She spent many summer vacations with her family camping, fishing, and exploring history throughout the western United States, as well as visiting Canada, and Mexico. After sending their two kids to college, Joyce and Ken followed their love for adventure by traveling to China and Europe, enriching their lives with new cultures and experiences.
Despite facing multiple surgeries and health issues over the past year, Joyce remained strong and fought bravely until the end. Her passing was due to complications from these challenges, but her resilience and spirit never wavered.
Joyce's family will forever remember her as a guiding influence who filled their lives with love, wisdom, and a deep appreciation for art and literature. Her legacy of kindness, creativity, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A private service will be held in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory.
