Celida Maria Palaziol passed away peacefully at home on March 9, 2026 in San Pedro, California at the age of 81. She was born in Tamazula, Durango, Mexico on October 17, 1944 and was a 65 year resident of San Pedro. She met her love, Jorge Palaziol, in San Pedro and they were married April 15, 1968, they shared a beautiful life together. Growing up, her children, Patricia and George, were lucky to have her as a stay at home mom, she loved creating special memories and her home was full of love and was the main gathering place for her entire family. She was the center of her family’s universe and she will be deeply missed. She loved to travel near and far, cooking and celebrating with family and friends, casino trips, and bingo. She will always be remembered as an amazing cook and baker, making her famous family tamales, empanadas, or cookies. The coffee pot always ready for visitors at any time.

She was preceded in death by her parents Maria Luisa (Torres) Fernandez and Inez Jose Fernandez, husband, Jorge Gerardo Palaziol, and her Brothers-in-law Hector Palaziol, John Carlos Palaziol, Arturo Cuadra and Francisco Sanchez . She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Palaziol Fire (Laurence Fire) and son, George Patrick Palaziol (Jennifer Palaziol); her precious grandchildren Anthony Michael Palaziol, Victoria Ann Palaziol, Eliana Jordan Fire, and Daniel Louis Palaziol; her sisters Gloria Cuadra, Socorro Fernandez, Adela (John) Bodnar and Martha Higgins; her brothers Joe (Lupe) Fernandez, and Jose (Sonia) Fernandez; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many dear friends.
