The earthly journey of Carroll Lee Martin began January 11, 1947 in Frankfort, Kentucky as the son of the late Carroll Lee Martin, Sr. and Mintie Stone Martin. His parents, sister Yvonne Martin Perry and brother Michael Martin precede him in transitioning.
Lovingly known by his family as "brother", Carroll received his primary education within the Kentucky school system before joining the Navy. After completing his tour, he was discharged in the Chicago area. With seeing the world as part of his bucket list, he traveled and ultimately made Los Angeles, California, his home.
Soon after arriving, he met and married his wife of over 27 years, Paula.
After a week of Family Reunion ended with services at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Wilmington, California, he joined, worked where assigned, soon elevated to Superintendent of Sunday School, Church Treasurer and showing himself worthy he was ordained as a Deacon in October 2008 which led to Chairman of the Deacon Board in 2019.
While living in Chicago he became the father of one daughter Chantell Frazier (Regis) of Florida and two sons, Carroll Martin lll (Tangela) and Kevin Martin (Crystle) both of the Chicago area.
His friends and acquaintances remember him as a man of God who was a devoted husband, kindhearted with a loving spirit who always displayed unwavering faith.
Leaving behind a legacy of service to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and concern for others, Carroll departed Wednesday. October 29, 2025. A day of the week, for years, he intentionally and faithfully attended prayer meetings and bible study at New Hope.
Loving memories will forever be cherished by his devoted wife, Paula Martin, daughter Chantell, sons Carroll lll and Kevin. He also leaves 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild in addition to two sisters Doris Smith (Jack) and Jackie Sanders in addition to other relatives, neighbors, co-workers and his New Hope Church family who have already and will forever miss his presence.
