Bonnie Kay Brandenburg Dino

1944 - 2025

Bonnie Kay Brandenburg Dino, who lived a life of faith for nearly 81 blessed years, was welcomed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 15, 2025. She was greeted at Heaven’s door by her cherished parents, William and Bonnie Brandenburg, her beloved brother Fred Brandenburg, as well as her nephews Ricky and Darren Brandenburg. Bonnie’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and Godmother. Her love lives on in her husband of 44 years, Michael; her children Matthew (Kristen) and Megan (Chris) Schaefer; her grandchildren Noah (18), Hadley (3), and Ellory (9 mths.); her brothers Jim (Alexis) Brandenburg and Bob (June) Brandenburg; her sisters-in-law Mary Ann Brandenburg and Nadine Holder; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law William and Anita Quinn; her nieces and nephews: Debbie, J.R., Mark, Sallye, Tiffany, Donovan, Troy, and Shane; as well as countless treasured extended family members and friends.

Bonnie was born in Great Falls, MT, but grew up and spent nearly all her life in Wilmington, CA. She first attended Gulf Avenue Elementary, where she met her childhood friend Claudia Meldrum. They, along with their good friend Mary Fisher, formed a special friendship that would span 60+ years. She later attended Banning High School, where she met dear life-long friends, Char and Jack Carsten, Janet Yackley, and Judy Huebner. Bonnie kept in touch with many of her fellow Banning Pilots and always enjoyed attending the Banning Girlfriend Gatherings over the years.

Bonnie began her career on the waterfront right out of high school in 1963, working as an administrative assistant at Indies Terminal Company. She was hard-working, organized, and efficient. Indies Terminal was acquired by SSA Marine in 1985, and she continued working for the company until she retired from Homeport Insurance in 2013. A lot changed in the port over the years, but Bonnie and her green ’68 Camaro remained the same. She loved her coworkers, and considered them beloved friends, many whom she loved like family. While Bonnie could have retired earlier, she was committed to achieving a remarkable 50 years with the company - a true testament to her tremendous dedication, loyalty, and quiet perseverance.

Bonnie had strong ties to her Montana roots and was blessed to spend much of her retirement building and enjoying her Montana dream home on beautiful Flathead Lake. Bonnie was strong and independent, gentle, generous, and kind. She loved Elvis and all things patriotic. She enjoyed visiting museums, reading and learning, tending to her many beautiful plants in her Wilmington backyard, watching her new trees grow in Montana, dancing with her forever partner Mike, and most of all, spending time being an ever-present, always loving and playful grandma. She loved her home, always making it warm, welcoming, and inviting. From Presidents’ Day to St. Patrick’s Day, she had a decoration for every holiday. Bonnie truly was a servant of the Lord, loving and selfless, always putting others first. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 30th, at 11:30 AM in the Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Park.
