Bill Joe Mills, a devoted family man and respected member of the community, passed away on January 13, 2026, in Long Beach, California. He was born on July 9, 1935, in Darden, Tennessee. Bill dedicated over 30 years of service at the Los Angeles Harbor Grain Terminal, where he was known for his commitment and strong work ethic.

Throughout his life, Bill exemplified the values of family and community. He was a constant presence in the lives of those he loved, including his beloved wife, Sandra Mills, with whom he shared a remarkable marriage lasting 72 years. Bill was a proud father to Carl,Terry, David, and Billy Mills, guiding them with wisdom and love. He also cherished his role as a grandfather, creating lasting memories with his family.

Bill's personality shone brightly; he was a dedicated family man who garnered respect from everyone he met. He had a passion for country music and loved to sing, often sharing his joy through music with family and friends. His interest in classic cars brought him much pleasure, as did his talent for telling jokes, which often brought laughter to those around him.

Bill is preceded in death by his son, Carl Mills, whose memory will be honored as the family reflects on the legacy of love and unity that Bill fostered within their lives.

Visitation will take place on January 26, 2026, from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM, followed by a funeral service on January 27, 2026, at 9:00 AM. Both services will be held at Green Hills Mortuary & Memorial Chapel, located at 27501 S Western Ave, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275.
