Betty Person Smith

Betty was born at the beginning of the depression in Greenfield Iowa, September 1929.The youngest of eight siblings, the only girl. She moved to California in the fifties with her parents and went to Glendale High School. She met her future husband Keith Person at church. They were married in 1956 and bought their first house in Los Angeles. They had three kids in the first two year's of their marriage. Keith got a teaching job at Gardena High School. One more son came along after that. Both were active in church, first at Asbury and then Alondra Park United Methodist. Keith left for heaven in 1996, and their son Brian in 2001. She remained active in church and moved to Hope United Methodist where she met Don Smith. They found love late in life and got married. They lived in Manhattan Beach until Don's passing in 2017. She remained active in church as well as the United Methodist Women. She moved to Brea after that where she lived out the remainder of her life. She was 95 years old when she passed. She is survived by three sons, three daughters in laws, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Service and interment will be held at Green Hills Cemetery in Rolling Hills on 3/17 at 2 pm.
