Betty J. Peterson

Betty Jane Peterson (née Royal), a beloved mother, grandmother, and spirited adventurer, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

Born and raised in Wolf Creek, Colorado, Betty lived a life full of warmth, curiosity, and boundless energy. She was known for her unwavering “Let’s Go” attitude—always ready for the next journey, whether it was across the globe or just around the corner. Her love of travel was matched only by her love for her family, with whom she shared countless memories and meaningful moments.

Betty is survived by her devoted daughters, Gail (and her husband Stuart) and Wendy (and her husband Darren), as well as her cherished granddaughter, Randy. Her legacy lives on in the stories they tell, the laughter they share, and the adventures they continue in her honor.

She will be remembered for her open heart, her zest for life, and her ability to make every day feel like a new beginning.
