Listen to Obituary
Bethuel "Botts" Chung (Apr. 17, 1925-Aug. 13, 2016) Age 91.

Botts was the second youngest of five children of Hyun Suk (Mother) and Kook Hyun Chung (Father) and was born and raised in Dinuba during the Depression. He passed away peacefully at his home in Los Angeles after a short illness. He attended Jefferson and Lincoln school and later Dinuba Union High School where he played on the "B Team" football team. He was always proud of winning the "Most Valuable Player" award for playing at the Left Defensive Tackle position even though he was one of the smallest players on the team. He graduated high school one year early due to the start of WWII, and enlisted in the Army Air Force in Merced. Following military service he moved to the Los Angeles Area to earn his B.S. in Electronics Engineering at UCLA. In 1950, Botts married his beautiful bride Marian Kim and they remained married for 48 years until her passing in 1998. He loved hiking, taking roads less travelled, photography and playing Chess. He is survived by his two children; his son, John Chung and daughter Carey (Kenny) Takeda, two granddaughters, Ren and Jes , His constant companion Teddy Bear and his many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Marian, his parents, and his beloved brother and sisters; Matt, Theo, Cornie and Rowena . We imagine they are all together drinking ice cold RC colas from the back of grandma's fridge while eating chijimae and oxtail soup.
