Barry P. Feldmann, age 68, of Santa Monica, Ca. passed away on July 20, 2026.

Born June 25, 1958, in Merrill Wisconsin, to James and Ramona Feldmann. Barry lived in Wausau, Wisconsin with his parents and brothers Noland D. Feldmann and Jeffery J. Feldmann until the family moved to Santa Monica, California in 1965.

Barry and his brothers attended Pilgrim Lutheran school until graduation at the end of 8th grade. Barry attended Lincoln Jr. High and Santa Monica High school and graduated in 1976. He then attended Santa Monica College and graduated from Cal State Northridge University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Barry was a highly intelligent man who enjoyed philosophy, politics and the practice of common sense.

Barry’s interests included Business, Economy, Entertainment, History, Engineering, Aviation, NASA, and Science fiction.

Barry had a membership with the Screen Actors Guild. He appeared in bit parts in several Science fiction television shows. He also wrote several science fiction screen plays.

During his College and University educations Barry signed on with the Santa Monica Police department, as a Police Cadet. He was trained in the processes and procedures of Records, Operations, Identification, and Detectives Bureaus as well as Prisoner processing and handling within the city Jail. He was trained in weapons handling, discharging and maintenance on the firing range within the department. He trained in patrol, radio and arrest procedures during “ride-a longs” with Sworn officers.

After 4 years as a Cadet, Barry was promoted to a SMPD Community Service Officer where he served the city of Santa Monica for another 2 years until he was severely injured in a training accident due to mechanical failures with the pursuit vehicle he was driving. Barry’s injuries plagued and followed him for the rest of his life.

Barry strongly believed in God and his Son, Jesus Christ. He would often speak of his religious beliefs over a pipe or cigar with his brothers.

He practiced and shared his faith on the streets with his fellow man treating those less fortunate to gifts, meals and surprises. Barry is known for his huge generous heart. When he knew, you wanted or liked an item; He would surprise you with a year’s supply of it. Barry would offer you double whatever you requested.

Barry was also known for his long dread lock hair. He was a Santa Monica Icon. People would stop and request pictures with him to take home to their home countries with them. His hair was born from a severely broken heart, when a woman he loved, left him. He ceased cutting his hair and seldom dated some 20 years ago.
