Torrance, California

Listen to Obituary

Her home was often the gathering place for family and friends where food and laughter overflowed.

Arlene Castro Provisor, 45, of Torrance, California, passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Beverly Hills, California

Arlene was born in Honolulu, Hawaii in 1980 to Fernando and Araceli Castro. For the first part of her life, she lived on the island of Oahu, while her father served in the United States Navy.

Growing up, Arlene was very studious and was always on the honor roll. She was also very musically inclined and was hand selected to play the clarinet in the Moanalua High School Marching Band.

She graduated from Moanalua High School in 1998 and attended Leeward Community College then transferred to the University of Hawaii Manoa two years later.

She met her husband of 21 years, Bruce Provisor, while attending the University of Hawaii and they were married in Ko'Olina, Hawaii on May 5, 2005.

Soon after they were married, Bruce and Arlene moved to California to pursue better career opportunities. In 2007, their family grew with the birth of their

daughter Anabelle and continued to expand, to include their son Jaden in 2011, and their youngest son Evan in 2014. Even as a dedicated wife and mother, Arlene continued to pursue her love of education, obtaining a Master's Degree in Health Administration and was certified in oncology nutrition. Just as in her personal life, she was committed to helping others. She worked as an Associate Director at Cedars-Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Institute, leading a team that supported the needs of oncology patients and their families.

Arlene will always be remembered for her kind heart, friendly personality, and her contagious smile. She had a way of bringing joy to everyday moments and making people feel welcomed and valued. Her home was often the gathering place for family and friends where food and laughter overflowed. She will be remembered for the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Arlene was preceded in death by her mother, Araceli Castro. She is survived by her father, Fernando Castro; mother in law, Pantip Provisor; husband, Bruce Provisor; daughter Anabelle; sons Jaden and Evan; brothers Armando (Naomi) Castro and Arnold Castro; nieces Ariel Castro, Dylan Castro, Thaliyah Castro, and Aeryn Castro; nephews Andrel Castro, Armando Castro Jr., Arnold Castro Jr., and Matteo Castro
