Andy Aranda, affectionately known as “Miralo”, passed away on October 27, 2026 at the age of 74, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, unforgettable memories, and a family and community who will forever cherish the joy he brought into their lives.
Andy is survived by his beloved wife Allison; Brian (Vangie) Kameryn, Bryson; Chris (Cass) Arya; Andrea (Mario) Devyn, Andrew, Chris, Nico. His family will carry forward the memories, laughter, and love that made him such a special part of their lives.
Born and raised in San Pedro, Andy was a true people person with a larger than life personality and a sense of humor that was second to none. Wherever Andy went he brought the fun with him and was always the life of the party, to know him is to love him.
Behind the jokes and laughter he was a man with a genuinely generous heart. Andy was always willing to give to those in need, offering kindness and help to others. He had a way of making people feel welcome and his generosity was just as much a part of his legacy as his humor.
Andy spent his life enjoying the things he loved, he played high school baseball, enjoyed surfing and bowling. Singing was also a passion of his, he loved karaoke. Andy knew how to enjoy life and bring people together. He took pride in his career as a Longshoreman. He retired August 1st, 2026, after working 30 years on the waterfront. This gave him more time to enjoy life, go on cruises which he loved and spend more time at his house in Mexico, a place he also loved.
While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, Andy's spirit will live on in the stories retold, the jokes repeated and the laughter shared by those who loved him. His legacy is a reminder to enjoy life, and never miss an opportunity to make someone smile. To know “Miralo” was to know laughter, friendship, generosity and a personality that can never be duplicated. Whenever someone remembers him with a smile, tells one of his jokes, sings a song in his honor or hears that familiar “UH HUH”, a little piece of Andy will be right there with them.
Rest in peace “Miralo”. You will be loved, remembered, and always missed, “UH HUH”.
