In Loving Memory of Allen Hugh Quinton Sr.
Allen Hugh Quinton Sr., affectionately known as “Big Al,” passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, at the age of 85, surrounded by the love of his family in San Pedro, California.
Born on September 16, 1940, in Long Beach, California, Allen was raised in Harbor City and graduated from San Pedro High School in 1959. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserve before dedicating many years of service to Reagan Forge and Engineering, and later the Long Beach Naval Shipyard from which he retired in 1997.
Allen will be remembered for his unwavering strength, quick wit, gentle wisdom, and deep devotion to his family. He found joy in hunting, fishing, travelling, and sharing stories with those he loved. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and guidance to all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Eloisa “Loy” Quinton. He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his children, Allen Quinton Jr. (Veronica Heredia), Xavier Quinton (Annette Estrada), and Bernadette Quinton DeLeon (Manuel DeLeon); his grandchildren, Natalee, Karly, Robert, Evan, and Alex; his great grandchildren, Mia and Aiva; and his beloved and faithful dog Shadow.
A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be celebrated on June 15, 2026, at 9am at Holy Trinity Church, 1292 W. Santa Cruz Street, San Pedro, California. A private interment will take place t a later date at Green Hills Memorial Park.
Following the Service, family and friends are invited to gather for a luncheon reception at Raffaello’s Ristorante, located at 457 W. 7th Street, San Pedro.
In honor of Allen Sr.’s love of life and vibrant spirit, guests are warmly invited to wear Hawaiian attire.
