Namulaulu Adele Ramona Brunt Tamasese, age 84, of Gardena, California, passed away on February 15, 2026. She was born May 29, 1941 in Vaivase, Apia, Samoa. Her parents were Charles Selby Brunt and Manupopo Tautaioleua Malietoa. She was the sixth of nine children. James Osber Brunt (deceased), Theodore Sale Brunt (deceased), Stanley Brunt (deceased), Bertie Tualatamalelagi Brunt (deceased), Hannah Fuatino Patane (deceased), Samuel Brunt (deceased), Jack Brunt (deceased), and Nellie Fauatea (living).
Adele’s primary education was received in Apia at St. Mary’s College but she received most of her education at the Church College of Western Samoa. As a young adult she migrated to Auckland, New Zealand with her siblings and grandfather, Theodore Weber Brunt. In 1966, while living in Auckland she was called to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Samoa.
In March of 1968 she married Inosia Salanoa Alafua (deceased) in the Los Angeles, California Temple. They had six children. Following the passing of her first husband, she married Aselota Tamasese in 1992.
She was a loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren. She was very involved in their lives and supportive of their goals.
Adele’s life was a life of faith and service to her God and to her family. Besides being a wife, mother, and grandmother one of her notable accomplishments was serving three full-time missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her first mission was to proselyte in Samoa from 1966 to 1968. She served two missions with her late husband, Aselota Tamasese, as temple workers the first one in Apia, Samoa Temple and the last one in the Jordan River Utah Temple.
She was a very talented woman. She was an expert seamstress that designed clothing where she had a business at home. She was very creative and enjoyed arts and craft projects. Adele also had a great sense of humor, she especially enjoyed gathering with friends and family. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. She will be missed tremendously.
Her services will be held in Carson, California at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Family Service from 6p to 8p on Tuesday, February 24th, and Church Services from 9a – 10a on Wednesday, February 25th. The burial will be at Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, California. A luncheon will follow.
Her love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
